You’ve come to the right place if you’re looking for the right padel equipment!

If you’re reading this, you’re either already playing padel tennis or you’re about to take your first steps. Padel is THE new trend sport par excellence. In recent years, the number of padel players has quadrupled, as has the number of padel courts. And we’re not talking about a regional phenomenon here: padel tennis is now played in almost 60 countries around the world and there’s hardly anyone who can resist the appeal. If you’re one of them, you should pay close attention now, because here are the 5 most important things you need to play.

Racket

Just like its big brother tennis, the first thing you need is a racket, because the padel racket is the basic tool for getting started in the sport. The right choice will also determine how quickly you progress. For this reason, it is advisable to get professional advice – be it from a coach, an expert in a specialist store or an advanced player. There is a huge range of different shapes and materials available, but don’t let this discourage you! For beginners, experts usually recommend choosing a racket that you feel comfortable with on the court. At the beginning, it’s all about confidence and a good feel for the racket. A classic option for beginners is therefore a round club made from lightweight materials.

Ball

No game without a ball! Apart from certain dimensions, the padel ball is made of rubber and is yellow or white. It is smaller than a tennis ball and even though it may look like a tennis ball at first glance, it behaves differently.

Shoes

Choosing the right shoes is even more important than choosing the right club. Your shoes should not only be comfortable — they can also have a significant impact on your performance and prevent injuries. There are a variety of models with different soles, materials, fabrics and technologies that can be adapted to your level, playing style and preferences.

Accessories

Apart from aesthetics, the right accessories can make all the difference on the pitch.

Hat: If you are playing outside, you should definitely protect yourself from the sun. A hat can help here.

Headband: With all the movement that a padel match requires, the hair on your face can get in the way. With a headband, you not only cut a good figure on the court, but can also play with much more freedom.wrist support: Wrist joints often cause problems, especially when starting out in padel. A wrist support not only reinforces the stressed area, but also prevents possible sprains or inflammation in the tendon area. It also serves as a sweatband – and you’re guaranteed to sweat!

Doubles partner

Padel tennis is played in doubles. For this reason, choosing the right partner is crucial. It’s best to find someone who plays at a similar level and has roughly the same fitness level as you. Of course, it is also important that both players know the rules of the game inside out and that the interpersonal chemistry is right. The best players are not only the best partners on the court, but also really good buddies off the court!

Want to conquer the padel court?
